Heard on the Hill: Congressman Alec Baldwin? Dont Rule It Out
Dear Alec Baldwin: Will you just run already?
For the second day in a row, the three-time Golden Globe and two-time Emmy Award winner advocated on Capitol Hill — this time in support of the Fair Elections Now Act, sponsored by Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Rep. John Larson (D-Conn.).
The actor’s cause Wednesday was campaign finance reform. On Tuesday, he championed the arts. And in the past, he has spoken on behalf of the world’s critters — he even gave up meat for a time to make a point.
His diverse collection of political issues leaves people wondering: Will Baldwin, a former Capitol Hill intern in his college years, run for office?
Although he wants to, Baldwin tells HOH that there’s “wall-to-wall Democrats in New York” that currently steal the spotlight.
“There’s nowhere for me to run right now,” he says.
But could there be a future Rep. or Sen. Alec Baldwin of New York?
Perhaps.
“I won’t rule it out,” he admits.
In other words, expect more sightings of Baldwin on the Hill.
