Heard on the Hill: Who’s to Blame for Partisan Divide?

A new documentary featuring several Members of Congress confirms we are living in a politically polarized time.

You’re completely gobsmacked, we know.

The film “Patriocracy,” directed by Brian Malone, includes interviews with many current and former politicos, including ex-Rep. Mickey Edwards (R-Okla.) and ex-Sen. Alan Simpson (R-Wyo.).

Simpson and Edwards — who seem to have a particularly colorful way of expressing their opinions — claim to know just who is responsible for the partisan divide that has infested Washington over the past decade.

The fault, dear readers, lies not with political figures, but with the excessive amount of “bullshit” in the media these days. (Simpson’s word, kids, not ours.)

There is zero objectivity from journalists and media outlets, the two Republicans agree. And the constant drone of commentators is filled with, well, “bullshit,” Simpson says.

 And what exactly is this?

“Anybody who’s got half a brain knows what bullshit is,” Simpson says.

Fair enough, sir. Fair enough.
