HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Huntsman Hunts Votes on ‘Colbert Report’

GOP presidential hopeful Jon Huntsman popped by the brilliantly satirical “Colbert Report” last night for some career advice from Comedy Central’s fiercest faux newsman.

After questioning his credentials for the Republican nomination by highlighting Huntsman’s well-documented ties to the Obama administration, Stephen Colbert hit the former ambassador with this double whammy:

“How can you be a moderate in today’s Republican party? Are you extreme about anything? Say something that’s going to alienate some people, right now!” the host said.

The near-stoic Huntsman refused to take the bait, offering up this “Kumbaya” chorus:

“It is unnatural and it is unhealthy for the most blue-sky, optimistic people in the world, we as Americans, to be as divided as we are today.”

His good karma still intact, Huntsman closed out the show by inviting Colbert — in fluent Cantonese — to consider joining the ticket as his vice president.
