Pelosi Mocks Perry Over Debate Challenge

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said today she won’t debate Texas Gov. Rick Perry, which Perry improbably challenged her to this week, and mocked Perry in declining the request.

“He did ask if I could debate here in Washington on Monday,” the California Democrat told reporters at a press conference. “Monday, I’m going to be in Portland in the morning. I’m going to be visiting some of the labs in California in the afternoon. That’s two. I can’t remember what the third is.”

Pelosi’s feigned forgetfulness was a dig at Perry’s recent debate meltdown in which he couldn’t recall the third federal agency he is vowing to dismantle if he wins the presidency.
