Rep. Sanford Bishop announced Wednesday afternoon the creation of the bipartisan Congressional Chicken Caucus.

The Georgia Democrat joined with an Arkansas Republican, Rep.Rick Crawford, to create this bipartisan forum “to educate Members of Congress about the history, contributions and concerns of the U.S. chicken industry.”

“I look forward to working with the Chicken Caucus Co-Chair, Congressman Rick Crawford and other bipartisan members of the Caucus in creating forums where poultry producers, consumers, retailers and food inspectors can provide members of Congress with their insights on how we can better maintain and enhance our poultry industries,” Bishop said in the statement.

Bishop claims the history and contributions of America’s chicken industry “emanate” from issues such as food safety, trade, labor, immigration and the environment.

Here at HOH, we have every confidence that this group will finally reveal just which form of poultry actually did come first.
