NRCC Backs ‘Patriots’ With Big Fundraiser

The National Republican Congressional Committee pulled in $1.5 million at a fundraiser last night for 10 of its most vulnerable Members.

The third fundraising event for Members in the NRCC’s Patriot program, meant to help shore up incumbents, was attended by House leadership.

The haul will be split between the 10 Members: Rick Crawford of Arkansas; Dan Lungren, Gary Miller and Brian Bilbray of California; Scott Tipton and Mike Coffman of Colorado; Joe Walsh and Timothy Johnson of Illinois; Roscoe Bartlett of Maryland; and Dan Benishek of Michigan.

Democrats slammed the event. “Fundraisers like this for vulnerable Republican incumbents are really about how many oil company checks they can get as a reward for ending Medicare,” said Jesse Ferguson, a spokesman for Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
