New Mexico: Martin Heinrich Launches First TV Ad in Senate Race
Rep. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) today is launching his first Senate campaign TV ad, about a month before voters head to the polls for the primary.
It’s a positive spot, and the campaign is spending about $72,000 to air it statewide and in El Paso, Texas, for a week over broadcast.
“Watching my parents work so hard, I learned the dignity of work,” Heinrich says in the ad. “So for me, fighting for people’s jobs is personal. That’s why I’m proud of getting Albuquerque’s minimum wage raised, extending unemployment benefits and holding job fairs to help people find work.”
Heinrich is favored to win the June 5 Democratic primary over state Auditor Hector Balderas and had nearly four times as much in cash on hand as Balderas at the end of March. The winner will likely take on former Rep. Heather Wilson (R) in a competitive general election race.
