It’s Tuesday and time again for Take Five, HOH’s weekly dose of five questions for a Member of Congress. This time around, we speak with Rep. Kevin Yoder (R-Kan.) about some of his likes (Charles Dickens, Batman) and dislikes (University of Missouri sports teams).


Q: You started your political career as student body president at the University of Kansas. What advice do you wish you could give your younger self about running for office?


Q: What’s the best place to stop on a trip to Kansas?

A: Allen Fieldhouse — the home of the Kansas Jayhawks, best tradition and greatest college basketball team in the country.


Q: You graduated with a degree in English and political science. What’s your favorite novel and why?

A: “Great Expectations” — a Charles Dickens classic.


Q: What’s your favorite sports team?

A: Kansas Jayhawks — and anyone playing [the University of] Missouri.


Q: What summer blockbuster can you not wait to see?

A: The new Batman movie — “The Dark Knight Rises.”
