K Street Files: TCH Group, Polaris Add Lobbyists

Allison Nyholm, most recently a policy adviser at the American Petroleum Institute, has joined the lobby shop TCH Group as a partner, the firm announced Wednesday.

Nyholm’s experience in federal and state legislative and regulatory issues spans two decades, TCH Managing Partner Mike Tongour said in an email.

At the API, Nyholm focused on federal oil and gas royalty legislation and regulation. From Alaska, she worked as an associate director for three of the state’s governors: Wally Hickel, Frank Murkowski and Sarah Palin. And she previously worked as a private-sector consultant on energy development projects on tribal lands.

Star Power

Polaris Consulting has recruited a House Financial Services Committee aide as an associate for government affairs. Emily Frumberg, who had been the panel’s member services coordinator, is signing on to the boutique lobby shop’s staff.

Previously, she worked at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

“We are excited about adding Emily to our team and believe she will be a great addition to the firm,” Polaris founder Dan Gans said. “We are confident Emily will greatly enhance our ability to provide the highest level of service and representation on the Hill to our firm’s clients.”

Merger Inked

The Las Vegas-based firm R&R Partners is teaming with Hannegan Landau Poersch Advocacy, and the ventures will share office space in D.C. at 101 Constitution Ave. NW.

“We have been looking to bolster our Washington fire power and the HLPA team brings extraordinary relationships and skills to the table,” Billy Vassiliadis, CEO of R&R Partners, said in a statement. “With our combined resources, both companies will provide an enhanced suite of communications disciplines that target issues from a more 360 perspective than most shops can offer.”
