Stephanie L. Young has been hired as press secretary in the leadership office of Rep. Steny H. Hoyer, D-Md. Young was director of constituency press for the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Committee. She has worked as director of regional press in Florida for Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign. She was communications director for the Congressional Black Caucus. She also worked as an editorial assistant at PBS Newshour. She was deputy press secretary and African American press adviser at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Nick Ikeda has been hired as a military legislative assistant to Sen. Mazie K. Hirono, D-Hawaii. Ikeda was a legislative assistant to former Sen. Daniel K. Akaka, D-Hawaii. He also served as deputy director for business management for the Air Force. He was a legislative liaison officer, international projects officer, and in charge of planning and programming for the Missile Defense Agency. He also retired from the Air Force with the rank of lieutenant colonel.

Walter Kaneakua has been hired as military liaison to Sen. Hirono. He was a liaison to the armed services in Hawaii as an aide to the late Sen. Daniel K. Inouye, D-Hawaii. He also served as a captain for Aloha Airlines. He retired from the Air Force with the rank of colonel.

Scott Will has been named deputy political director for the Republican State Leadership Committee. He was a campaign manager for the West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey. He was director of the Iowa Senate Majority Fund. He also served as field director to John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign.

The following people have been hired or promoted at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC):

Carl W. Hoecker has been named inspector general of the SEC. Hoecker is inspector general for the Capitol Police. He also has worked as deputy assistant inspector general at the Treasury Department. He has worked as a special agent at the department. He also served as a criminal investigator at the U.S. Information Agency, now part of the State Department. He also worked as a military policeman for the Army. He was a special agent for the Army Criminal Investigations Command.

George S. Canellos has been promoted to acting director of the SEC’s division of enforcement. Canellos is the deputy director of the division. He has worked as director of the SEC’s New York regional office and at the Justice Department as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York. He also has worked as a litigation partner at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy.

David P. Bergers has been promoted to acting deputy director of the SEC’s division of enforcement. Bergers is the director of the SEC’s Boston regional office. He has also served as head of SEC enforcement in Boston.

Lesley Reynolds has been promoted to partner in the health care practice at Fulbright & Jaworski. Reynolds was an associate. She has served as president of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association’s mid-Atlantic chapter. She also has worked as a summer associate at Fulbright & Jaworski.

Joe Pasetti has been hired as a government affairs director for the Semiconductor Industry Association, a trade group. Pasetti was the director of government relations at Sharp Electronics Corp. He has worked as managing director for Solyndra Inc. He also has served as chair of the Solar Energy Industries Association’s government affairs and political action committees.

Dustin Todd has also been hired as a government affairs director for the Semiconductor Industry Association. Todd was chief of staff for Rep. Paul Tonko, D-N.Y. He has worked for Tonko as a scheduler. He also has worked as a shared employee for the Democratic staff of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee.
