Steve Robertson has been hired as director of the Democratic staff on the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee. He was a senior legislative assistant for Sen. Bernard Sanders, I-Vt. Robertson also has worked as director, deputy director and assistant director of the national legislative commission at the American Legion. He served as a staff sergeant for the Army National Guard. He retired from the Army with the rank of captain.

Jody Franklin has been hired as director of communications and engagement for the metropolitan policy program at the Brookings Institution. She was director of communications at the Economic Policy Institute. She also served as chief of staff to Hillary Clinton during President Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential campaign. She also worked as a public relations director for Share Our Strength, a national anti-poverty organization. She was chief of staff in the office of public affairs at the Labor Department under President Clinton. She also worked as political director of EMILY’S List.

Eric Hoplin has been named vice president of communications and organizational strategy at the Financial Services Roundtable. Hoplin was a lead associate at Booz Allen Hamilton. He also worked as a foreign affairs adviser to former Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota. He was a security policy program assistant at Columbia University. He worked as deputy chairman of the Republican Party of Minnesota. He was chairman and executive director of the College of Republican National Committee.

Angela Giancarlo has been hired as a partner in the government and global trade practice at Mayer Brown. She was chief of staff and senior legal adviser to Federal Communications Commissioner Robert McDowell. She also worked as counsel at Hogan & Hartson and for former Rep. Jack Kemp, R-N.Y.

Gregory M. Williams has been hired as a partner and member of the litigation practice at Wiley Rein. He was general counsel and managing partner at A7 Global Management Services. He also has served as a partner at Hughes Hubbard & Reed. He was an associate at Covington & Burling.

The following people have been hired or promoted at the Truman Project:

Jaclyn Houser has been hired as advocacy director. She was a press liaison for the Laborers’ International Union of North America. She also worked as campaign director for a 2012 Missouri congressional race. She also worked as a regional field director for John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign in Michigan. She was director of marketing and communications at Greenberg Guinlan Rosner, a Democratic polling firm.

Caitlin Howarth has been hired as director of leadership development. She was a pipeline fellow at the Roosevelt Institute. She also worked as director of leadership development for the capital area for the Truman National Security Project. She worked as deputy director of the telecommunications equality project at the Roosevelt Institute. She was a human security analyst at the Satellite Sentinel Project.

Brandon Fureigh has been promoted to director of training and public engagement. He was advocacy director. He also worked as state campaigns manager there. He was a field organizer for a Missouri congressional race. He served as a training coordinator for The Tatitlek Corp.
