Federal Judicial Nominee’s Law Partners Gave $150K to Democratic Super PAC

The Senate confirmation of U.S. District Court nominee
Jennifer Dorsey
may have hit a snag last week after it was disclosed two of her law firm partners had contributed $150,000 in May 2012 to a Democratic super PAC prior to her nomination.

Will Kemp of the Nevada law firm Kemp, Jones & Coulthard gave $100,000 on May 1 to the Senate Majority PAC, a Democratic-oriented super PAC. Another partner, J. Randall Jones, gave $50,000 on May 14. See Las Vegas Review-Journal article.

Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., introduced Dorsey at her confirmation hearing last week. See release. In April 2012 he had returned a small $2,500 contribution that she had contributed in late March to his campaign committee.
