Kushner and Trump Bundle for Booker
Kushner Companies President Jared Kushner and his wife, Ivanka Trump, were part of bundle of contributions of more than $40,000 to U.S. Senate candidate and Newark Mayor Cory Booker. The New Jersey Democrat reported he raised $1.9 million through March 31.
The March 4 bundle included $41,600 from eight Kushner family members or associates. Each gave the maximum $5,200 contribution, including $2,600 for a primary election and $2,600 for a general election. The bundle included Jared Kushner (president, Kushner Companies, and publisher of the New York Observer); his wife, Ivanka Trump (Executive V.P., The Trump Organization); Joshua Kushner (venture capitalist, Thrive Capital); Seryl B. Kushner (Kushner Companies) spouse of Charles Kushner; Joseph A. Meyer (CEO, Observer Media Group); Nicole Meyer (creative director, Ralph Lauren Polo); Dara Kushner Orbach (homemaker); and David Orbach (chairman, Regal Bank).
Notably absent from this group is Charles Kushner, spouse of Seryl, and father of Jared. Charles Kushner was convicted of making illegal campaign contributions, along with other crimes, and served prison time. The Federal Election Commission also got involved with the case and agreed to Charles Kushner paying a $508,900 civil penalty for contributions from 1997-2000 to 13 candidates, one party committee, and one PAC. Jared, Dara, Joshua, and Nicole Kushner were listed as respondents in the FEC MUR 5279, but no action was taken against them. See FEC release.
