Bloomberg’s Lobbying Firm Amends First-Quarter Report

Williams & Jensen PLLC filed an amended lobbying report today cutting in half the amount it says it received for lobbying work in the first quarter on behalf of its client, Bloomberg LP. Williams & Jensen now states it received only $50,000 from Bloomberg for first quarter lobbying.

Bloomberg LP reported it spent $140,000 for lobbying in the first quarter, but that was less than the $190,000 initially reported as being received by Bloomberg’s five contracted lobbying firms. Political MoneyLine pointed this out in an earlier posting.

Bloomberg’s lobbying total for the second total may be higher because of questions being raised by government agencies that have Bloomberg terminals. News reports indicate that the Federal Reserve and the Department of the Treasury have made inquiries to Bloomberg LP after it was reported that Bloomberg LP reporters had access to certain information on subscribers use and activity on the terminals.
