Super PAC Picks Up $250,000 Contribution

The Club for Growth Action, a Republican-aligned super PAC, reported it received $250,000 on April 9 from 
Robert Arnott
, (chairman of Research Affiliates LLC) of Newport Beach, Calif.

Arnott has given before to the super PAC. He gave $500,000 in 2012 and $500,000 in 2011.

During April, the super PAC reported receipts of $279,245 and disbursements of $38,294, leaving cash on hand of $451,340. Another major donor was retired lawyer Elena Goyanes of Austin, Texas, who gave $25,000.  The Super PAC spent $30,230 on independent expenditures against Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark., and $400 against Rep. Greg Walden, R-Ore.

Club for Growth Action reported raising $18.3 million in 2011-2012 and spending $16.6 million on independent expenditures. They spent $3 million for Republicans and $9.3 million against Republicans. They spent $4.2 million against Democrats and $15,000 for Democrats.
