Allen West
The Allen West Guardian Fund reported it raised $860,788 and spent $352,904 from April 1 to June 30, leaving $728,954 cash on hand as of June 30. The committee raised $648,022 from small contributions of $200 or less. The committee reported 952 itemized individual contributions totaling $212,766. However, the itemization did not include the occupation or employer for 613 donors, about 60 percent. Of the itemized contributions, $45,469 came from Florida, $32,833 came from Texas, and $30,253 came from California. There was one $5,000 contribution but it was refunded.
There did appear to be an unusual contribution pattern. There were more than 100 $1 contributions along with a second larger contribution (many for $100, $200 or $500) on the same day from the same person.
West served in Congress from 2011 to 2012. After redistricting in Florida, he switched from the 22nd District to the 18th District and lost the 2012 election to Democrat Patrick Murphy. West raised more than $19 million in his 2012 campaign. View his 2011-2012 financial profile.
