Embezzler Returns $275K to Democratic Governors Association
A Kentucky man has made the required full restitution of the $275,000 he had embezzled from the Democratic Governors Association.
Michael Parker, a 22-year-old from Lexington, Ky., who worked at Patton Processing, was charged in March 2013 with theft by unlawful taking.
From July 2010 to September 2012, Parker worked at the company receiving and processing campaign contributions meant for the DGA, a Section 527 political organization. Parker then deposited more than $250,000 in checks into his personal account.
The DGA reported the receipt of the funds in its IRS Section 527 midyear report. View earlier article on the DGA’s financial report.
