NRA PAC and EMILY’s List Raise $1+ Million

The political action committees of an issue group dealing with gun rights and another promoting female candidates brought in $1+ million from fundraising in July.

The National Rifle Association of America Political Victory Fund reported it had receipts of $1,224,864 and disbursements of $43,775 in July, leaving $9,332,152 cash on hand on July 31. More than $1 million in contributions came from those giving $200 or less. The PAC gave out $20,000 to federal candidates and committees.  In the first seven months of 2013 it has raised $8.3 million. In the full 2011-2012 cycle the PAC raised $14.4 million.

EMILY’s List, a PAC that supports female candidates, reported receipts of $1,527,966 and disbursements of $1,824,543 in July, leaving $2,910,772 cash on hand on July 31. The PAC received $424,839 from contributors giving $200 or less. The PAC gave $9,732 to federal candidates and committees. The PAC spent $267,660 for online advertising, and $313,050 on postage. In the first seven months of 2013, the PAC raised $10.3 million. In the full 2011-2012 cycle, the PAC raised $36.7 million.
