Verizon Communications & Verizon Wireless Already Wired for PAC Money

The PAC of Verizon Communications has already pulled in contributions from employees and executives of Verizon Wireless to form a combined $2.5 million political operation.

Verizon Communications’ agreement Monday to buy the remaining 45 percent of Verizon Wireless, a joint venture with Vodafone Group, should not have a big impact on the political contribution program since the PAC operation of the two affiliated groups had already been combined.

The Verizon Communications Inc/Verizon Wireless Good Government Club had 2013 receipts of $772,692 and disbursements of $690,720 from Jan. 1 through July 24. The PAC has given $690,500 to federal candidates and committees this year. The PAC treasurer is Taylor Craig, who is based in Washington, D.C. The PAC has $326,952 cash on hand as of July 24.
