A Kentucky lawyer who is also the general counsel to the Republican Governors Association has started a new super PAC to make independent expenditures.

Michael G. Adams
, a partner at Dinsmore & Shohl LLP law firm, has registered American Heartland PAC as an independent-expenditure-only committee with the Federal Election Commission. Adams concentrates on political law and works out of the Louisville, Kentucky and Washington, D.C., offices. Adams is listed as the treasurer. In March 2013, Adams gave $1,000 to McConnell Senate Committee ’14.

Adams is also treasurer of Pro-Jobs Pro-Kentucky, a state PAC formed to help Republicans win control of the Kentucky state House.
