Super PAC Has $500,000 Donor

Super PACs making independent expenditures in federal elections continue to receive individual contributions of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The Club for Growth Action, a conservative Super PAC, reported it received $500,000 on 8/16 from Virginia James, a self-employed investor from Lambertville, New Jersey. Other large donors included Fred Young (retired), of Racine, Wisconsin, who gave $70,000 on 8/29; and Cary Katz, CEO of College Loan Corporation, from Las Vegas, Nevada, who gave $50,000 on 8/2.

The PAC reported receipts of $683,770 and disbursements of $161,281  during August, leaving $1,408,457 cash on hand as of 8/31. During August the PAC spent $143,799 for independent expenditures against Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark.
