Union Market Reprises Drive-In Movie Series

Waaay back in the summer, the good folks over at Union Market rolled out their DC Drive-In series of films over four Fridays. Lucky for cinephiles, the show must go on, and Union Market is bringing back the DC Drive-In for the fall, with five films tied to themes associated with the season.

“Caddy Shack” gets things started on Friday, Oct. 4 as part of National Golf Day. “Julie and Julia” follows on the next Friday, Oct. 11, as part of National Cookbook Launch Day. “Good Will Hunting” screens on Oct. 18 for National No Beard Day (Apparently, Robin Williams’ beard is still terrifying people, although he might have birthed a hipster movement with it) and Nov. 1 will show “Evan Almighty” as part of All Saint’s Day. On Nov. 8, the film is TBD, dependent on votes via social media. Details to come on that. The films are free, at 1309 Fifth St. NE. Food from the Union Market vendors? You have to pay for that.
