Sen. McCain’s leadership PAC, Country First PAC, reported yesterday it gave a $5,000 contribution on Sept. 11 to Enzi for US Senate. The PAC had earlier given $5,000 to Enzi on July 24. Enzi, the senior senator from Wyoming, is up for re-election in 2014.

He was re-elected in 2008 with almost 76 percent of the vote, and he won re-election in 2002 with 73 percent of the vote. He was elected in 1966 after a tight primary. He is supported in his 2014 re-election drive by the state’s other senator, John Barrasso, R-Wyo., and the sole House member, Rep. Cynthia Lummis, R-Wyo. Enzi for US Senate reported it had $488,150 in cash on hand as of June 30.

Liz Cheney, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, is challenging Enzi in the 2014 Republican primary.
