Two Senate Candidates Put Up $1 Million or More for 2014
Two Republican open seat candidates are on the list of Senate candidates contributing or loaning the most to their campaign this year. Both contributed or loaned $1 million or more to their campaigns for election in 2014.
Former Michigan Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land, R- Mich., who is running to fill the seat of Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., who is retiring, reported she contributed $1 million in the third quarter to her own campaign. She contributed $50,000 on 8/13 and $950,000 on 9/30. During that period she raised another 1,048,586 from individuals and PACs. She has $1,938,812 cash on hand as of 9/30.
