Marco Rubio’s PAC and U.S. Chamber Follow Through With $747K in Ad Buys

Two organizations that announced they would be making early independent expenditures for 2014 candidates have followed through and reported spending $747,469 in the last two days on independent expenditure advertisements.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce reported to the Federal Election Commission late today that it spent $550,000 on independent expenditures supporting three candidates in West Virginia, and Idaho.  The Chamber paid Craft Media Digital $165,656 for TV advertisements and $34,344 for online advertisement supporting Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., who is running for the U.S. Senate.  The Chamber paid Craft Media Digital $165,357 for TV advertisements and $34,643 for online advertisements supporting Evan Jenkins, R-W.Va., who is running for the U.S. House of Representatives.  The Chamber paid $140,000 to Revolution Media for TV advertisements, and $10,000 for online advertisements supporting Rep. Mike Simpson, R-Idaho, who is seeking re-election.

The leadership PAC of Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., Reclaim America PAC, reported to the Federal Election Commission late today that it spent $197,469 on independent expenditures in support of Thomas Cotton, R-Ark., who is running for the U.S. Senate in Arkansas. The PAC paid $151,000 to Smart Media Group for media buys; $20,000 to Google Inc. for web ads; $15,270 to Something Else Strategies for media production; and $10,000 to AOL Advertising for web ads; among other expenditures.
