House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi attended a fundraiser Wednesday evening for Rep. John F. Tierney, D-Mass., according to an invitation obtained by CQ Roll Call.

The American Optometric Association PAC and the American Occupational Therapy Association hosted the event to boost Tierney’s re-election. “Suggested contributions” range from $1,000 to $5,000.
This is not the first time Pelosi has campaigned on behalf of the embattled congressman. She attended another campaign event in Massachusetts with Tierney in August.
Even though Tierney is in a heavily Democratic district, he is in the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s Frontline program for vulnerable incumbents.
Tierney faces a competitive primary against veteran Seth Moulton, plus a likely tough general election fight against his 2012 rival, former GOP state Sen. Richard Tisei.
Tierney’s political troubles are rooted in an investigation for allegedly improperly reporting income from his wife and brother-in-law. The House Ethics Committee cleared him of any wrongdoing in September.
Tierney narrowly defeated Tisei by a one-point margin in 2012.
