Facebook PAC Corrects Excessive Contributions to Senators

After an inquiry from a federal agency, an Internet technology company’s PAC has taken steps to correct its excessive political contributions to three U.S. Senators.

Facebook Inc. PAC today filed a response to an inquiry from the Federal Election Commission regarding excessive contributions to Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Sen. Mark Pryor, D- Ark.

The Facebook Inc. PAC assistant treasurer stated they had reviewed their records and coordinated a response with the campaigns. As a result, the PAC received a refund of $5,000 from the McConnell Senate Committee ’14, and a $5,000 refund from Texans for Senator John Cornyn Campaign. The $5,000 contribution to the Pryor campaign was re-designated as $2,500 for the 2014 primary and $2,500 for the 2014 general election. An amended report was filed with the Commission.
