Hensarling Gives $1 Million to NRCC

A House committee chairman has given a million dollar boost to the Republican’s congressional campaign committee as it starts into the 2014 election year.  

Rep. Jeb Hensarling , R-Texas, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, reported his campaign committee sent $1 million to the National Republican Congressional Committee on January 10th. Hensarling had previously served as chairman of the House Republican Conference from 2011 to 2013.  

Hensarling’s principal campaign committee, the Friends of Jeb Hensarling, reported  receipts of $49,058 and disbursements of $1,078,554 during January. Even after giving the $1 million transfer, Hensarling’s committee has $2,101,839 cash on hand at the end of January.  

During 2013, the committee had receipts of $2.5 million, including $1,251,550 from PACs and other committees. The receipts from PACs included $518,299 from PACs of finance and insurance companies and organizations.  

During his career, Hensarling’s campaigns have raised $13.6 million, including $5.5 million from PACs and other committees. PACs of the Financial/Insurance sector have given $2,762,815.
