The House stenographer who was dragged from the floor by Capitol Police last fall after shouting about God, the Freemasons and a House divided counts the Oct. 16 incident as the fourth time “the lord has put on my heart to speak.”  

Dianne Reidy said she remembers “walking to the dais and speaking, and standing at the podium where the president speaks as God would have it, but I did not lose my mind.”  

Speaking publicly for the first time in the nearly five months since the outburst, Reidy maintained she was driven to act by God.  

“I did not have a breakdown,” she said in a 38-minute video posted Sunday afternoon.  

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1Nih7at8eQ Reidy said she loved working on Capitol Hill and knew the speech, characterized as an “assignment” from the Holy Spirit, would likely cost her the job she held for eight years. The outburst happened as House members cast their final votes for a compromise bill to end the government shutdown and raise the debt ceiling. Reidy noted that there was only a 1 in 7 chance she would be the stenographer assigned to the steno type at the time of the important vote.  

“He will not be mocked. He will not be mocked. Don’t touch me. He will not be mocked. The greatest deception here is this is not ‘one nation under God.’ It never was. Had it been, it would not have been … no … it would not have been,” Reidy is heard yelling in a 50-second clip from C-SPAN included in the video.  

“The Constitution would not have been written by Freemasons. They go against God,” she said. “You cannot serve two masters. You cannot serve two masters. Praise be to God. Lord Jesus Christ.”  

In the video, Reidy and her husband, Dan, question the authenticity of the audio.  

“After saying, ‘God will not be mocked,’ I don’t have a memory of anything else that was said that evening after being escorted off the floor,” Reidy said. “I do remember saying that, ‘A house divided will not stand.'”  

Immediately following the incident, Reidy was transported to a local hospital for a mental health assessment. According to a fourth quarter statement of disbursements from the House, Reidy was still on the payroll through the end of 2013.  

Dan Reidy says the couple wants the world to know they are both “Bible-believing Christians,” and speaks at length about gifts of prophecy.  

“We believe with all our hearts that what took place that night was God speaking through Dianne,” her husband said, “bringing forth the word of correction to our government and hopefully… before he brings his judgment … on our country.”
