Americans for Prosperity is scheduled to air a new ad Wednesday attacking Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., for supporting the president’s health care overhaul law.

In the spot, shared first with CQ Roll Call, a female narrator argues the law has put “your doctors and hospitals further out of reach.”

“What’s health insurance worth, if care isn’t there if you need it?” she asks.

[field name=iframe]  Shaheen faces a challenge from former Sen. Scott P. Brown, R-Mass., who now lives in New Hampshire. Brown’s nascent candidacy gives Republicans a shot to unseat Shaheen, who, until recently, had not drawn a competitive challenger.

AFP has put $457,000 behind the 30-second ad, which is scheduled to run for two weeks on New Hampshire broadcast stations WMUR and WBIN, as well as on cable. It will not run in the Boston media market.

This marks the second ad AFP has run targeting Shaheen in the Granite State. The group’s first ad, which aired in January, also focused on her support of the health care law.

“We know the Big Oil Koch Brothers are prepared to spend millions to buy Scott Brown our Senate seat. Here is more proof,” Shaheen campaign manager Mike Vlacich said in a statement on Tuesday, before the ad went up.
AFP’s New Hampshire spot refers to insurers in the state health care exchange removing certain hospitals and doctors from their networks to save money. There is only one insurer in New Hampshire’s exchange: Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and they have removed 10 of the 26 hospitals in the state from their network, some of which serve large population centers.

AFP will also roll out ads in the Colorado, Michigan and Louisiana Senate races on Wednesday.

The race is rated Democrat
Favored by the Rothenberg Political Report/Roll Call.
