This gem was on the front page of the July 25, 1957, Roll Call edition. The caption under the photo reads:

Civil Rights and soaring mercury made the Capitol the hottest place in town this week. So Radio Station WWDC, which sponsors the Miss Washington beauty contest, sent down cooly-attired Leigh Feete, 21, to shade the Capitol Dome with an umbrella. If anything, Miss Feete — umbrella or no — raised temperatures even higher.
