DCCC Raises More Than NRCC in January

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee brought in $2 million more than its GOP counterpart in January, according to reports filed Friday with the Federal Election Commission.  

The DCCC raised $6.4 million last month, while the National Republican Congressional Committee brought in $4.4 million over the same time period.  

The DCCC reported $6.9 million in cash on hand, while the NRCC reported $3.6 million in the bank.  

At of the end of January, the NRCC reported $7.5 million in debt, while the DCCC reported $10 million in debt.  

The NRCC decreased its debt by $300,000 in January. Last cycle, House Republicans picked up 13 seats to expand the GOP’s majority to one of the largest in history.  

Nine members of the House Democratic caucus each contributed more than $100,000 to the DCCC. They are Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California, Minority Whip Steny H. Hoyer of Maryland, DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján of New Mexico, Caucus Chairman Xavier Becerra of California, Assistant Democratic Leader James E. Clyburn of South Carolina, Vice Caucus Chairman Joseph Crowley of New York, Chris Van Hollen of Maryland and Lloyd Doggett of Texas.
