Members Shoot Hoops for a Cause
Mark your calendars for the 28th annual Home Court Charity Basketball Game, scheduled for next week.
Gonzaga College High School will host the Georgetown Law faculty and staff on March 25 as they take on members of Congress. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. This year, Congress’ “Hill’s Angels” will include Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., and Reps. Tim Huelskamp, R-Kan,
Chris Gibson, R-N.Y., Cedric L. Richmond, D-La., and Curt Clawson, R-Fla
.
Facing them are Georgetown’s “Hoya Lawyas,” led by Dean William Treanor, Dean of Students Mitch Bailin and Adjunct Professor and Ethics Counsel Michael Frisch.
The lineup from last year’s game, which raised $600,000, included seven House members, two staffers and Casey.
Tickets are available for $15, or $20 with a T-shirt, and can be reserved here . Gonzaga is located at 19 I Street N.W., a few blocks from both the Capitol and Georgetown Law.
Proceeds benefit the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless , the largest provider of legal services for homeless people in Washington, D.C. Since its inception in 1988, the Home Court game has raised more than $6.5 million dollars, according to Georgetown Law.
