GOP Senator Doesn’t Care What You Think of His Disney Ringtone (Video) (Updated)

Updated 1:51 p.m. | A Senate Finance hearing on U.S. tariff policy was disrupted Thursday not by protesters, but by one Republican’s Disney-themed ringtone. In the middle of questioning Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, Sen. Pat Roberts found himself in a unique predicament when his cellphone rang to the tune of “Let It Go,” the theme song to the popular 2013 movie “Frozen.”  

The Kansas Republican didn’t miss a beat, telling the committee, “just let it go.”  

Roberts told reporters his phone has two ringtones: the catchy Disney song and Johnny Cash’s “Walk the Line.”  

“When my grandkids are around and they dial me it’s always ‘Let it Go.’ And obviously, I’m a Johnny Cash fan and I come from that era so I walk the line,” Roberts said. “It just sort of depends on my mood. If I’m opposed to a particular provision in a bill that we’re marking up, I’ll use ‘Walk the Line’ and if not, if I’m for it, I’ll just say let it go. That’s mainly my message to the administration. Let it go. Let it go.”  

He echoed this refrain on to the White House on Twitter after the gaffe.
