Misunderestimating Hillary Clinton — Again!

Way back in 2008, I published a cartoon in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in which the joke was predicated on her losing the New Hampshire primary to Barack Obama. I was confident in that prediction when I filed my cartoon, and went home at 6 p.m. on the day of the primary — but it soon became clear I would have to eat crow in the morning when the paper came out.  

Many pundits had credited Clinton’s tearful, unscripted reply to a New Hampshire voter who had asked how she was holding up with reversing the momentum in that contest. Paraphrasing candidate Clinton, I penned my own mea culpa, which was published the following day.
