Gothamite Gaga About Nancy Pelosi’s Devotion to Family
A New Yorker was presently surprised to spot House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi mingling with a Greenwich Village congregation on Mother’s Day. Most of all, she adored watching the California Democrat dote on her grandkids.
“It was just lovely. She cupped their faces gently in both of her hands in turn, leaning in to whisper greetings to each,” our tipster, who caught the public display of affection while attending services at the Church of St. Joseph, told HOH. “Not a side of our politicians often seen.” Due to her passing familiarity with this particular community — “I fill in for ill/vacationing singers at various churches in the city,” our source explained — the spy wasn’t completely sure what was going on.
“Before the service, I noticed a woman down at floor level, who looked, I told the regular alto standing next to me, like Carly Fiorina. … Fast forward to the service, and in walks this older, pantsuit-clad, well-coiffed woman. I turn back to the same alto and say, ‘And *that* woman looks like Nancy Pelosi. Ha, ha!’ To which she responds, ‘That *is* Nancy Pelosi. Her daughter is a member of the church,’” the pol watcher recounted via email.
Team Pelosi did not respond to requests for comment about the frequency of her visits to see documentarian Alexandra Pelosi, or her impression of the parish.
