WH: Prisoners Executed Went Through Jordanian Justice System

One day after Jordan executed two prisoners in response to an Islamic State video showing one of its pilots being burned alive, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest refused to criticize the response, saying the prisoners went through the Jordanian justice system. “I don’t have a specific reaction to the news,” Earnest said in response to a question by CNN White House Correspondent Michelle Kosinski. “They’d gone through the Jordanian justice system, they’d been convicted, they were sentenced to death, they were serving time on death row and their executions were carried out overnight. So I’d refer you to the Jordanian authorities for additional information about that.”
