McCarthy Optimistic on Debt Limit Extension

Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy said Friday that he was hopeful the House will “start the down payment where we don’t have to worry about raising the debt limit – that we’re actually paying off the debt.” “Why don’t we come together, find a way to raise it, but find a way that we don’t continue to add to it,” McCarthy later said.
