Colorado Sen. Cory Gardner on Monday became the first member of the Senate to endorse Florida Sen. Marco’s campaign for the Republican presidential nomination.  

Gardner, a 41-year-old Republican elected in 2014, joined a growing group of younger and newer members of Congress who have endorsed Rubio.  https://twitter.com/CoryGardner/status/661223507167195136  

Gardner’s announcement comes at a time when Rubio’s stock has begun to rise in the polls and among Republican leaders, while at the same time former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has struggled to gain traction. The former governor does, however, lead in the race for lawmaker endorsements, with support from Sen. Orrin G. Hatch, R-Utah, and nearly two-dozen other House members.
