Comey: San Bernardino Shooters Radicalized ‘A Long Time’

FBI Director James B. Comey said Wednesday that Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, the couple behind the shooting in San Bernardino, Calif., had been radicalized by Islamic State ideology before they began dating. “As early as the end of 2013 they were talking to each other about jihad and martyrdom,” Comey said. “We also believe they were inspired by foreign terrorist organizations. We’re working very hard to understand exactly their association and source of inspiration.”
