Rep. Don Young, R-Alaska, welcomed a great grandson this month, Jaxson, who was born Dec. 13 and whom the congressman met for the first time on Christmas day. He is Young’s first great grandchild.

“Parenthood has been one of the greatest honors of my life, so words can hardly describe the joy I felt holding my great grandson for the first time,” he shared on Facebook .

Jaxson is the son of Caity Crombie, one of Young’s 14 grand-children. Kaity is the daughter of Dawn Vallely, one of Young’s two daughters.

It's been a busy 2015 for Young family additions. On June 9 , Young married Anne Garland Walton on his 82nd birthday. The two had a private ceremony in the Capitol chapel and House Chaplain Patrick J. Conroy officiated.
