State Dept. ‘Won’t Accept’ North Korea as Nuclear State

In a tense exchange at a news briefing Wednesday, State Department Spokesperson John Kirby said the administration will not acknowledge North Korea as a nuclear state. When pressed that the administration was simply denying reality, Kirby asserted that there’s “a difference between dealing with what we know it is developing … and officially accepting or recognizing it,” Kirby said.
