Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., is raising money for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research at the second annual Back to the Future-themed happy hour.

“Go Fox Yourself” on Wednesday night will be held at Penn Social in Chinatown at 6 p.m. and will give all proceeds directly to the actor Fox’s foundation, which is dedicated to find the cure for Parkinson’s disease through research.

“I appreciate all that the Michael J. Fox Foundation has done to elevate the need for research of Parkinson’s disease and the untold thousands of dollars he’s raised to invest in research,” Isakson said.

The senator was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in June 2 and this is the first year he has participated in the event.

$2,000 worth of prizes were donated from D.C. area businesses to raffle off at the event.

A DeLorean time machine, the automobile-based means of transporting through time in “Back to the Future,” will be parked outside Penn Social and “will be available for pictures (and for nerding out),” the invitation says. The 90s cover band Make More Animals will also perform.

The first Back to the Future movie was made in 1985 and Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991.

Vendors and sponsors of the event include Soul Cycle, Vida Fitness, Sonoma Wine Bar on Capitol Hill and Mission bar in Dupont Circle.
