Capitol Police temporarily suspended operations at its firing range in the Rayburn House Office Building on Wednesday, citing operational concerns relating to its design. Range designers are working to identify concerns, the details of which were unknown. Police said in a statement they were ceasing activity at the range “due to operational concerns and out of an abundance of caution.”  

In November, Capitol Police said they were putting the finishing touches on a new state-of-the-art firearms range that included an array of advanced technology to allow for a variety of training scenarios. The firing range has been in the Rayburn building for 50 years.
