Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., laid into lax Wall Street regulations on the floor Wednesday, saying there is one legal system for the “wealthy and powerful” where the government accepts “token fines and phony promises,” and another legal system for all other criminal offenders. “Republican politicians love to say they’re tough on crime … when they’re back home in their districts,” Warren said. “But when they come right here to Washington, they’re pushing to make it even easier for corporate criminals to escape justice.”
