Obama Defends Oil Tax Hike Proposal

President Barack Obama defended his proposed oil fee Friday, saying it would help position the American economy for the future and help transition away from “dirty fuels.” “It’s right to do it now when gas prices are low,” Obama told reporters during an impromptu question-and-answer session. The fee would not be a “disruptive” force on the broader U.S. economy,” he added.
