Donald Trump said Tuesday he could pick Alabama Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions as his running mate.

“Jeff Sessions is certainly somebody I would consider,” the presumptive GOP presidential nominee said at a news conference in New York on Tuesday.

Sessions is one of Trump’s earliest congressional supporters . He’s tried to get his colleagues to support Trump as well, including organizing a March meeting in Washington between Trump and current and former GOP lawmakers.
