The Trump campaign fired controversial campaign manager Corey Lewandowski Monday following months of negative attention. Critics went after Lewandowski for both poor campaign organizing efforts and for contributing to the violence that plagued Trump rallies throughout the primary season.

In his most notorious episode, Lewandowski was arrested by Florida police in March for the assault of then Breitbart News reporter Michelle Fields. Fields alleged that Lewandowski grabbed her arm aggressively, bruising her, while trying to keep her away from Trump at a campaign event.

Lewandowski denied touching Fields, but video evidence contradicted his account. Charges were eventually dropped, but Fields ended up leaving Breitbart News as their management declined to take her side in the incident. She now works at The Huffington Post.
