Connolly: Trump an Existential Threat to Democracy

Sitting down with Roll Calleditor-in-chief Melinda Henneberger, Rep. Gerald E. Connolly said presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump “represents an existential threat to democracy.” “He is the first authoritarian figure ever nominated by a major party in the United States,” Connolly said in Roll Call’s “ Power Brokers” series, presented by United Health Group. “I have really yet to meet a Republican colleague here in the House who is enthusiastic about Don Trump.”
