Trump to Meet with Senate Republicans

Presumptive GOP nominee will also meet with House Republicans July 7

Senate Republicans will meet with Donald Trump on July 7, less than two weeks before the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.  

According to a GOP aide, the meeting with Trump, the party’s presumptive presidential nominee, will take place at the National Republican Senatorial Committee’s office a few blocks from the Capitol. Trump is also scheduled to meet with House Republicans next Thursday.

Trump’s meeting with the Senate GOP, which was first reported by Politico , will be the first time he faces rank-and-file senators. Trump met with the House and Senate Republican leadership in May.

Leaders described those meetings as positive and productive, though some raised concerns  about Trump’s tone on the campaign trail.
